Ramblings

Everyday you can see on TV or hear on the radio where some group or organization is asking for money to help kids in Africa, South America or some other country. I know these kids need help, I feel for these kids, honest I do, but...there are thousands and thousands of kids in our own country who need help too. Kids in other countries need shoes, so do kids here, and just like other countries our kids need clothes, medcation, education. They need a place to sleep at night, not just a box or a blanket on the street. A shelter may be warm and dry but it is not home. Why have these groups ignored our children? Is a good feeling the only thing that they get out of helping people in other countries or do they get more?
The next time you see an ad on TV asking you to send your 50 cents per day to help a chld in another part of the world ask yourself who is helping the kids next door. As bad as I feel for other countries, think it is time that we start taking care of our own for a change. When we have all of the children in our country healthy, happy and fed just think how strong our future will be.

I was surfing around and saw where a fairly famous comedian/actor called Sarah Palin's daughter a "lil ho". This really amazes me. This young lady is 17 years old, she is unmarried and still in school....PLUS...her mother is the Vice Presidential candidate. She is going to grow up fast and it is going to be rough. With this in mind, this man calls her a lil ho. If you are famous and you want to support a candidate then by all means do all you can to be active. But, if you have to take aim at a 17 year old girl to make yourself heard, you are a sad example of a supporter, you are a sad example of a man. Does the fact that she is going to have a child have any effect on national security? No. Does it have any effect on taxes, gas prices, food prices, unemployment, homelessness, drugs, crime? No. Stick to the issues that are going to keep us safe, secure and healthy. Does the fact that you caled her a lil ho make you less of a man? Yes, I think it does.
